Your Bed Could Be What Is Keeping You Awake At Night

How many nights a week would you say that you really sleep very good? Do you toss and turn off and on all night and wake up still tired and cranky too? If you are not having some emotional reason that is causing it, then you have to consider it could just be your bed. A bad mattress is one of the leading causes for sleepless nights and there are so many ways you can remedy the problem without having to go out and buy a brand new mattress set.

Sometimes when a mattress gets some age on it, several years or more, they can become uncomfortable even though you might have really loved it when it was brand new. The mattress can change or your own body can change over time too as we all know. When you are really losing sleep at night because you can’t get comfortable, you will have to redo some parts of your bed in order to get a good night’s rest again.

A memory foam mattress pad could be your salvation for sleeping. It contours to the body the way no regular mattress or mattress pad can do. When you lie in one position and then move, the memory foam simply fluffs back out exactly the way it was. It gives relief to those body pressure points like the elbows, shoulders and hip bones. When you are not waking up cramped up in certain areas of the body, you are likely to rest better and longer at a stretch without waking up. It is worth every dime you will pay for it!

If you are still sleeping on the same pillow you had five years ago, then this could also be part of your problem. When a pillow becomes flat from wear, it is time to change it out. A pillow should also be hypoallergenic because of dust mites and other bacteria that can build up in it over time. Pillows can be great when you first buy them, but sometimes even after just a few weeks they will not feel as good as when you first bought them. Investing in a quality pillow or two is for the best if you don’t want to wake up with neck cramps.

Sometimes doing something as simple as elevating your bed at the top with bed risers or lifters can help some people sleep better. Acid reflux and snoring is common and an elevated head of the bed is said to often be helpful. Older people sometimes need the head of their bed elevated to help breathing be easier and reduce chances of strangling in their sleep. You must have a comfortable bed if you want to have good sleep. When the fixes are this easy and this inexpensive you really should get it done.

Why You Need Bed Rest Pillows

Do you know about pillows with armrests? Sounds weird and unfamiliar? As weird and surprising as it may seem, bed rest pillows are pillows with armrests. If you are always uncomfortable when resting your back on a pillow while on the bed, bed rest pillows are perfect for you. They are basically pillows with arms that extend forward so you will have the comfort of an armchair.

Bed rest pillows are sometimes called husband pillows, for obvious reason, and are commonly large and quite stiff. They have a high back and arms that reach forwards and aim to help you when you are sitting on your bed reading, resting or watching television. Instead of resting on a hard stiff surface or floppy pillows, this pillow will give you a good and hard support.

Doesn’t it bother you when you read in bed and there is nowhere to put your arms? I mean, I always put them on my laps, which forces my head to bend down to read the book. Just 15 minutes of reading will leave me with a sore neck. Having the armrest of these pillows allows me to read upright and comfortably.

If you are fretting about cleaning a bed rest pillow, rest assured, these pillows comes with a removable cover. You can just take the cover off, dump it into a washing machine and lay back and let the machine to all the work.

Indeed, a bed rest pillow can be a good way to combat back pain and stress. I for one love to read in bed but just couldn’t find the perfect position to be in without having a sore back or neck afterwards. I tried a bed rest pillow and even though it has its flaws, it is still better than nothing. If you want comfort and get some relief from back pain, try a bed rest pillow today.

Baby Bedding Guide

I love baby bedding, and I’m not just saying that. Bedding is one of the most important things for baby. Why? Because the bedding for your baby is a lot like a second womb for them. It is a safe place for them to rest and grow. No one wants their baby to get sick or catch a cold, so bedding it always something that should be looked at long and hard. Yeah, bedding is a big deal.

On a functional note, it is a good idea to really know what you are getting into as far as bedding goes. You have to take several factors into account when shopping for the right baby bedding. As new parents there are a few things you might not have thought of. Fear not though, we are here to help you out.

You need to start thinking multiple sets of baby bedding. This is important when you consider that you would be looking at several sheet changes a day sometimes. This might or might not happen, but like the Boyscouts, you should be prepared.

Make sure your sheets are plastic coated as well. Even if they are buy some rubber or plastic liners. This will save you a lot of trouble on clean up later, for spills and um, leaks. These can often be rinsed right off, which is much preferred to breaking out a small mattress and trying to rinse that down.

Temperature weighs in pretty heavy on making a choice with baby bedding as well. You should really consider the weather. Even if it is normally warm in your house, a small draft you don’t notice could be a huge wind to your baby. By the same token, in cooler weather, stick with cotton and shy away from the flannels some.

Matching is important to some people. Who wants their baby to look like a hobo or some sort of infant riff raff? Here’s is a thought though, if you have a themed nursery, stick with it on your bedding as well (duh) but also think about all of your bedding being able to be mixed and matched. This way you can just replace parts as you go.

Finally we’re down to the nitty-gritty and have to discuss matching furniture. If you decide that absolutely everything has to match then by all means feel free. Just remember that at least once or twice out of the week they will not. Again this goes to the theme of your nursery. If you do decide this is a have to, stick with solids and save yourself some hassle. Nothing is worse than a Tigger room with Sponge Bob sheets. Perhaps discussing this with people before the shower is a good idea. Yup.

So remember when thinking about baby bedding to think over functionality first then think about what you need as far as design goes and finish up by being prepared with extras. Realistically, baby honestly won’t care. But your friends will say things like “awww” a lot and that makes everyone happy. Buying baby bedding can be a journey, but it doesn’t have to be a long and hard one.
