Baseball is a sport which most little boys enjoy. Hitting a ball with a bat and watching it go far and running all those bases is great exercise, so why not make that their theme in their bedroom? Yes, you can in fact make a great baseball theme room for your child no matter their age, toddler to teen. There are just a few rules which you need to make this room a great entertainment area for their friends.
Build a simple dug out by fastening together three pieces of plywood and attaching to the wall. Paint with home team colors and slide the bed inside the dug out. This disguises the bed so that it does not detract from the theme of the room. It also adds a personal touch that will relax your child and increase their enjoyment of the room.
Paint is another easy technique unless you want to be technical and add art. You can paint one wall as if it’s the stadium with little people. If you aren’t artistic try finding a wall sticker which gives you this wonderful feeling. Next you’ll need a scoreboard. Try to find the chalkboard paint which is wonderful so your child can change the scores as if he’s in charge of the game. And of course you’ll need to make an outfield scene. It can be easy and inexpensive if you’re able to find the wall stickers to help you with the artistic design.
Now with a wonderful baseball themed room you can’t forget home plate. Instead of placing a painting on the floor try a great white area rug. This will be an awesome addition along with a great warm feeling when you enter. If you’re able to find an area rug which is actually shaped into a home run plate that is even better.
Of course you do not want your child playing ball in the house with a real ball and bat, as an accessory get a soft set that will not do damage to your walls or windows. If your child is small you may want to invest in a tee ball stand as well. These will double as accessories and toys, because they will match your theme and be useful. You could use the whole room as a birthday or Christmas surprise and invite a couple of friends for a sleepover. Your child and his or her guests will be amazed.
This is a great design for a baseball lover but if you aren’t too artistic in the painting department it may cost a pretty penny. You might have to hire someone to paint the walls which won’t be too cheap. So why not make this a great birthday present or even Christmas present for your little guy? He’ll always remember that holiday for the rest of his life.

Say Hello To Your Toddler’s Bedroom

How fast time flies…now your baby crawls like Schumacher drives his car and walks like a supermodel in the making. The months of incessant carrying and cuddling are replaced by running after each other and catching your breath most of the time. The baby is now a toddler. It’s also a telling sign of a renovation for your baby’s room.
The crib goes out and in comes the bed. Toddlers are hyperactive and if they can only make decisions for themselves, they would probably rally on “no sleep and play all day!” chant. So make your toddler’s room as relaxing as possible to stimulate sleep. It’s hard enough as it is to put toddlers to sleep without the rich and bright colors, so just imagine how the colors yellow or red can do to a child’s awakened state. Go for the calming shades of pastels, tans, blues, lavenders and creams. Anything to encourage sleep, bring it on!
A child’s bedroom is usually also the playroom. Spare an area for play where you can put the toys. As your little one becomes more aware of the surroundings, maximize the use of interactive toys to develop your baby’s motor and coordination skills. These toys will also give your baby’s brain an added boost.
Use area rugs to designate the spaces needed. For instance, you can place a rug where your child plays the most; a rug for her dollhouse; a rug for his train set, or an area rug for drawing or looking at pictures while settled comfortably on the floor.
Finally letting go of the nursery and preparing for a toddler room is exciting and yes, emotional. Your baby is growing up! In a few years, you will again be redecorating for a preschool kid and saying goodbye to a toddler sanctuary. So don’t use anything too permanent. You might regret it for the hard work you have to do later on.
Don’t be ripped off by imitations. Be sure to buy authentic kids area rugs directly.
Puppy Love, Kitty Kisses

Looking for a different theme for your child’s room? Well there is a great way to change a room, change it to a puppy theme or how about those cute little kitten themes? Both of these animals are loved by kids of all ages, and most of them will want to have a pet while they are growing up. Sometimes due to circumstances you are not able to have a pet, so why not decorate their room up instead!
For this project I suggest choosing a wall paper with an animal theme. Puppies, kittens, bunnies, and many other lovable pets are offered in various patterns and colors. If wall paper is out of your price range create you may be able to create your own. To do this, choose a solid color for your wall. I prefer white, but any will work. Next find some stickers that have the pet you desire. Buy several hundred of these and place in a pattern on at least one wall. If you have used white paint the border of the sticker will not be noticeable, however if you did not use white you may want to edge the stickers in your background color so that it all appears to be one piece. The cost of this project will depend on the size of your room. My daughter’s room is 6′ X9′ and I was able to do her walls for only about $30.00.
Look for bedding that has the pet on it too. This is a great way to get the whole room looking like a great room, and to make your child happy. Plus the addition of some nice stuffed animals will even add more to the decor. Make sure that you don’t get too many different color schemes going though. The room can look great but get overwhelming if you have too much color in it.
Don’t forget the addition of an area rug, which you can get in so many different shapes, sizes and colors. A great thing about an area rug is it will help with the wear and tear on the floor, it’s easy to clean, and very inexpensive too. The area rug will be a great way to make sure the full room is tied together as far as decor too.
With a great theme of a puppy or a kitten you will have a lovely looking room for your child. And if you have had them help with the decorating it will also help out their self esteem. So have a project that both you and your child can do and redecorate their room.

Decorating Fun: Preparing Your Child’s Playroom

If you have a room to spare, it is time to give your toddler a playroom. It can be an extra bedroom, a basement room or an attic room. With the decorating ideas in this article, your child’s playroom will be a lot of fun regardless of where in your house it is situated.
The playroom must be safe, fun and cozy. Once you have chosen your perfect spot, the decor can be a lot of fun. The first thing is to make sure the room is secured and child safe. The perfect room will have built-in storage that will need safety latches.
Depending on the size of the room, the colors should be bright and fun. If it is a smaller space the colors really need to be light and cool colors that will reflect the light. Added lighting will help make the space look larger, cheerier and safer. The large playroom can tolerate the darker colors but keep it colorful and happy.
Decorate with lots of artworks. Posters, cartoons, stuffed toys, art materials and other things kids have fun with. You can also display your child’s artworks and photographs.
Playing can be safer with a floor treatment. This will prevent slipping accidents. One solution is to use area rugs. They can be cushions for the floor and are also great decorative materials.
Placing an area rug at the center of the room looks good and protects well. Toddlers often run around but usually settles in the wider space. Have a large rug in the middle, and if the playroom still permits, have a smaller rug as a cushion for a piece of furniture. It can be for his table and chair, his train set or the storage cabinet.
Area rugs are easy to use, so whenever your child wants to play with his cars and buses, you can just roll up the rugs so your baby can have fun “driving” his matchboxes. The rugs can be placed back without any hassle.
You might have thought of carpeting as a good flooring for the playroom. Although a carpet is a soft cushion, which is a safety bonus, carpet floor is tougher to clean. Toddlers aren’t as tidy as we want them to be thus, spills are expected. Area rugs are easier to wash and clean. If the stain is too bad that it needs a thorough washing, an area rug is also very easy to replace.
The area rugs for children can be their toys as well. With the fun designs, your toddler can learn more words and pictures just by studying the area rugs. Select area rugs with a number design, animal or flower theme and geometric shapes. Your toddler will learn some even before he starts pre-school.
Keep up with current Interior Decorating styles and enhance your home with kids rugs.
The Playroom Decoration Project

Changing your baby’s room from a simple nursery to a fun playroom is an instant treat for your little one. Here are some ideas to help you in decorating:
Storage – start by making the room as orderly as possible. This is not purely for aesthetic purposes but for your child’s safety as well. Without clutter, your toddler can play and run around all he wants without stubbing his cute toes or stepping and sitting on something that might cause him pain. Moreover, instilling cleanliness early on is a discipline that he will carry up to adulthood. Make use of cabinets and shelves as storage. There are also plastic containers in all sizes and colors for keeping toys. It is also a way of teaching your child to play with one toy at a time and return it before getting another one. This will prevent clutter in the room and maintain neatness.
Liven up the walls with some pictures. These don’t have to be expensive, just some posters, or pictures from magazines, and of course the child’s own art work, are perfect. You might also want to add a bought frieze or stickers, and perhaps something with the alphabet on it, just for an educational touch! Don’t forget the ceiling, especially if it’s a bedroom, because a nice idea is to add some glow-in-the-dark stickers, maybe of stars and moons.
Decorate the walls with fun wall hangings such as colorful pictures, your child’s photos, educational materials (an alphabet board is nice) and stickers. Your child will enjoy looking at all the visual treats on the wall, while learning some things. Children at developing stages have an amazing memory, actually far better than adults have, so start right by exposing your child to numbers, colors, pictures, letters, etc. way before pre-school starts.
Every play area should have a quiet space, with a comfy chair or bean bag and some books, and maybe a cosy rug or cushions. You will also want to have somewhere for those teddy bears to live! One good storage idea for these is a hammock, strung across a corner or side of the room.
Toddlers love to dress up, so find room for a dress up box. It is a good idea to have a small table and chairs, too, which the toddler can use for sitting down and drawing, or for tea parties.
Finally, your kid just like the other billions on earth would most likely prefer the floor over the chair. Children, especially at a younger age like to roll around, sit and lie down on the floor to play. Accessorize and have a floor covering at the same time by using an area rug. You can choose one big rug or place smaller area rugs in designated spots in the room, such as under the table and chairs, at the center of the playroom and by the cabinet. However, don’t miss placing one where your child sits and plays often. Buy area rugs that are made for children because they are more colorful, designed with children’s themes, thicker and non-toxic safe for children to use.
So, plan ahead, and you will have a space where your toddler will feel happy and comfortable and where he or she will want to play for hours.
Keep up to date with Home Design trends and enhance your home with kids rugs.
A Trip To The Zoo With Your Home Decor
January 11, 2010 by Abbie Osborne-Wilson

If only you could grant your child’s wish and bring him to the zoo every single day. That would be swell, right? Every time your sweet little one sees animals on TV, he gets all excited and recalls his exciting time visiting live animals in their “home” in the city. You in the meantime, relish the look of giddiness on your child’s face. I have good news for you…you can bring the zoo to your home, right to your child’s bedroom, playroom or whatever spare room you have. His very own animal place!
Start by removing all things from the room for the paint job. Paint the walls in sky blue for an outdoor scene and add some paintworks of trees, clouds and flowers. Images of animals, the big ones the better, can fill the wall space too.
For the next step, cut lengths of black garden hose, while your paint is drying. The lengths should be long enough to run floor to ceiling. After the paint has dried you will mount these to the wall loosely. This can be done with a strong double sided tape or heavy duty glue. Now select small stuffed animals to place between the make shift bars. When introducing the animals to their new home be sure that they do not make the bars bulge or bend. Once all of your fixtures are in place, secure all of your attachments by adding screws. This will complete your walls, but you must add other touches to really give a zoo like feel to your room.
An area rug with an animal print will add to the zoo-like atmosphere of the room. There are also area rugs for children with various patterns and colors, and animal designs are one of the most popular among kids. It will be like looking at colorful animal pictures in a book. Decorating with an area rug also comes with the functionality of a sturdy floor covering that will shield the floor from stains and scratches. Don’t worry about the stains going to the rug because they are very easy to clean. A simple wash or vacuum and a rug will look brand new. Your child will also have a more comfortable time playing on the floor with a soft, plush rug.
Area rugs can protect the floor from scratches and other damages, especially if the flooring is made of hardwood. No matter how playful your child is, a simple vacuum or wash can free the rug of dirt or stain. Area rugs are less of a hassle to maintain than carpeting.
Retreating to a room full of your child’s favorite things in the world will surely make him happy. Let’s just hope that he won’t get overly excited that he would no longer take his naps or worse, delay his early bedtime. He might end up wanting to play all the time with his animal friends in their very own zoo. Ah, a zookeeper with his beloved pets.
