The Perfect Decor For Little Girls

If your little girl has been bugging you about redecorating her bedroom, anytime is the perfect time to do so given the wide selection of themes, design and color suited for young girls. So why not decorate now and make it a bonding activity between you and your little girl?
Beachy themes are very popular, especially if you live very near a seashore or a body of water. It’s very easy to design and will surely be a hit with a girl who loves the outdoors and the water. Ocean themes can be done with a light blue or blue-green for the walls and a neutral color near beige for the floor. This should simulate the water and the sand of the real thing.
Star themes are simple to do as well, especially since you’ll find a lot of items that you can use to decorate the room. Everything from wallpapers to glow in the dark items and even rugs can be had in a star theme. While this theme is more common for boys’ rooms, you can give it a girlier flair with brighter colors like red and strong blues. Painting is a breeze with impressionist strokes or a star-shaped sponge as an applicator.
The universe is just as intriguing to girls as it is to boys. Boys however go for the astronauts and spaceships while girls prefer the dreamy stars and moon. The stars can be glow in the dark dots on the wall or bolder strokes akin to the stars of the outer space.
Flowers will never go wrong in a girl’s eyes. Decorating the bedroom with floral prints, flower arrangement, lots of flower colors and sunflower-shaped rugs or rugs designed with flower arts will certainly give your daughter her own paradise.
If your daughter is an outdoor gal, using earth colors will make her room nature’s own – greens, blues, browns, oranges, reds, etc. Think of autumn and spring, the forest, mountains and the fields. What is your daughter’s favorite scenery? What does she like to do outdoors? Use things that express her interest whether its horseback riding, hiking, camping or farming through photos, artworks and memorabilia.
Do you have a lot of secondhand items you want to use? A cottage theme incorporates those items very well. Whites and light colors paired with distressed furniture and simple patterns will give the room a very welcoming, home-on-the-range feel. It won’t look very expensive, but it’ll most definitely be cozy for your little girl.
Decorate with the use of not only accessories but fabrics too like curtains or drapes, window blinds, beddings, pillow covers and cushions. You can also upgrade the furniture with a new paint or a decorated artwork. Utilize area rugs suited to the theme for more colors and designs. The theme can be reflected in the rug’s color, design, material or pattern. Even the shape will boost the design like a star-shaped or moon-shaped rug for a universe/outer space decor. Artworks in area rugs are also popular among kids with designs such as cartoon characters, fairytale characters, animals, nature and more. With these and your girl’s personal collections, her bedroom will look amazing! She will love her room’s new look.
