Choosing a theme that will fit your new baby’s nursery isn’t always the easiest process. If you’re not sure what the sex of the baby is you may not know what color or style you can do the room in. This is why you should try and get a neutral color that will work with either gender of baby. However if you are aware of which gender you are having you can change the theme around a bit. Really you will need things that will attract the baby’s attention; they love to look at things when they are awake. This is why it’s important to have a mobile in their crib that will help them go to sleep.
Most likely the theme that you pick will not last all the way through the child’s growing up, but try and pick something that will last a while. Picking animals is a great choice, or a cartoon character would even be a good idea. The better you pick the more time you will be able to leave the theme up in the room. So pick carefully so that you will save money in the long run.
Super heroes are a great idea for a boy’s room. While a girl you can decorate up like a princess’s room or even a nice beautiful garden. Both of these themes can last for a while perhaps almost until your child gets into his teen years.
You should choose a neutral color for your base of your child’s room. From here you can simply add small decorations and furniture this way they can just be moved around, as your child gets older. This way you can add or remove themes without having to worry about changing the paint or wallpaper in the room.
You will want to make the themed style room one that is exciting to your child, something that can be easy to add to over the years if you need too. Put up artwork that your child has done in school as they get older, or add in a nice photo to the room.
Keeping the floor wood may be the best bet to decorating a newborns room. You can add a nice area rug that isn’t much in cost. Just make sure that you get one that is stain resistant, and one that isn’t too large either. As your child grows up they will have toys scattered in the room on a rug. The bigger rug you have the harder it will be to pick up and clean.
You should be able to easily stay in a budget when you go to decorating a nursery. But of course if you have a ton of funds take advantage of them.
