Is your bedroom looking drab and boring to look at? Has your tiny devil just done some work of art on the wall? Well, don’t blame him, for he too finds it boring. Let’s just ponder about this, if you did have an elegant bedroom you would surely watch his movements every time you saw him with a crayon. On second thought, if you did have an elegant bedroom you would just allow him to use the crayon on his bedroom wall or may be buy a big board for him to express himself.
Here are 5 easy to do redecorating ideas:
First, organize. Nothing beats a clean and orderly bedroom or any room at that. It’s time to put your clothes back to where they belong – the closet. Time too to place the books and magazines to where they should be – the shelf or rack. Those cosmetics strewn around might do your feet more harm than good, so pack them up in your cosmetics bag or organizer. Seriously, clean up your bedroom and see how it becomes an instant makeover technique. Your room will look like a brand new living space.
Change your bedroom’s look in an instant with a new paint. Ever noticed how a new hair color changes a person’s look? It’s the same with a living space. A new color for your bedroom will give it the makeover it needs. Do you want your room to look cozier? Happier? Vibrant? Soothing? Consider the ambiance you wish to have and base your color from it.
Matching curtains, counterpanes and rugs – Check out matching curtains with big floral prints, with matching self-color bed sheets and rugs to accentuate the room. Changing the angle of the bed would give you a different perspective. A small rug placed at the side of your bed would give your feet a soft landing when you wake up every morning.
Add a personal touch- Adding a personal touch to your furniture will enhance the ambiance. There is nothing like putting a jar of potpourri or a scented candle on a side table to go with the mood. Get family portraits done of special occasions, do just enough so as to not clutter the place. Hand made flowers do look attractive and are easy to maintain, so why not arrange one and place it in a pretty pot. A friend of mine even makes tissue and crape flowers to add her own touch to her bedroom.
Choose furniture that you can add to the bedroom other than the typical bed, dresser and cabinet. How about putting a bookshelf or a study table and chair? An oversized comfy chair will look nice too especially if paired with a round or oblong area rug. Given of course that there’s still space to use. You don’t want to be squeezing yourself between the bed and dresser just to get to the door.
Easy, aren’t they? In a day or two, you can change your bedroom into a brand new place. No longer will indifference and disinterest inhabit your private haven.
